SEASON RECAP

What an incredible journey this season has been! As the Wisconsin spring begins to bloom, we find ourselves looking back at one of the most successful and growth-oriented seasons in Brown County FIRST Robotics (BCFR) history. From our youngest builders to our veteran high school seniors, the dedication to innovation and teamwork has never been stronger.

FLL & FTC: Small Teams, Big Impact

Our FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) programs showed exceptional technical growth this year. A massive congratulations to The Codi Cacti (FLL), whose innovative problem-solving and robot performance carried them all the way to the State Championship level!

In the FTC division, FTC Team Crash N’ Burn continued their journey by successfully advancing to State after a series of high-scoring qualifying events. Additionally, we were thrilled to launch a brand-new team: palinDRONE. Watching these students build a competitive robot and a team identity from scratch was a highlight of the year.

FRC: Resilience and the Pivot

The journey for our FIRST Robotics Competitions teams began with a challenging weekend at the Appleton District Event. Despite months of preparation, the robots faced unforeseen mechanical and software hurdles on the field. While the robot performance wasn’t where the teams wanted it to be, their spirit remained unbroken. Player One was recognized for their outstanding team identity and branding, earning the Imagery Award.

The true test came in the weeks that followed. Both teams “dialed in,” using the setbacks in Appleton as a roadmap for improvement. They redesigned, recoded, and refined their strategies, showing incredible perseverance. This hard work translated into a stunning performance at the Seven Rivers District event in La Crosse. Player One rose to lead as the Captain of the 5th Alliance, and Red Bird Robotics demonstrated their agility by stepping in as the alternate for the 3rd Alliance during the playoff finals.

GREAT JOB, TEAMS!

SPONSORS NIGHT

On April 23, 2026 we hosted our First Annual Sponsor Appreciation Night. At this event we had season recaps from every level of our program and discussed what’s next for BCFR. Thank you to Foth for graciously hosting us in your space. We are fortunate to have strong community partners in Brown County who support the value of world-class Robotics programming. We’re looking foward to continuing to develop the next generation of engineers, fabricators and innovators to support businesses like yours!
