FIRST Robotics Challenge
Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. We call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”
Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.
Brown County FIRST Robotics is proud to support two dynamic FRC teams: Team 1716 Red Bird Robotics and Team 9578 Player One. These teams, composed of dedicated high school students and experienced mentors from STEM industries, are gearing up for another exciting FRC season, kicking off in January with the highly-anticipated game reveal and culminating in the FIRST Championships in April.
We’re committed to growing FRC participation in Brown County. The FIRST Robotics Challenge offers a unique platform for students to develop real-world skills, from engineering and programming to problem-solving and teamwork. These skills translate directly into the workplace, making FRC participants highly sought-after by employers.
By supporting FRC teams, local businesses are not just sponsoring a competition; they’re investing in the future workforce. FRC students gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology and develop the critical thinking and collaboration skills essential for success in today’s rapidly evolving industries.
Join us in empowering the next generation of innovators! Your partnership with Brown County FIRST Robotics can make a lasting impact on the lives of these talented students and help shape the future of our community.
